The subject of the research is the Right of Asylum in International Law. The topicality of this research is due to the general orientation of modern historical and legal research to identify the peculiarities of the Right of Asylum in International Law. The aim of our research is to study the features of the Right of Asylum in International Law. To achieve this aim we need to solve the following objectives: - to reveal the types of asylum; - to consider international legal consequences of granting political asylum; - to investigate the right of asylum in decisions of the European Court of Human Rights. Methods of research are determined by its aim and objectives. The research is carried out with the application of various general theoretical and special scientific methods of cognition and approaches to the study of the theory and practice of International law and Public International law, which include: historical and theoretical, comparative legal, systemic, structural and functional, formally legal as well as applied interdisciplinary methods. The theoretical value of the research is that the obtained theoretical results can be used in the study of the essence and functions of modern International law, Public International law, the improvement of scientific methodology, the specification of the terminological basis in this field. The practical value of the results obtained is that the materials of the research can be used in teaching lecture courses and special courses: “International law”, “History of international law”, “International protection of human rights”, “Public International law”, during seminars for students, postgraduate students, teachers.
