Прочитайте и письменно переведите на русский язык текст: BUILDING MATERIALS Building materials are divided into some groups: Main building materials, Secondary building materials and Binding materials. Main building materials are rocks and artificial stones, timber and metals. Secondary materials are used for interior parts of the building. Binding materials are lime, gypsum and cement. Cement, concrete and brick are artificial building materials. Timber, rocks, lime and sand are natural building materials. Materials that are used for structural purposes should be hard, durable, fire-resistant and easily fastened together. Wood is the most ancient structural material. It is light, cheap and easy to work. But wood has certain disadvantages: it burns and decays. Stone belongs to one of the oldest building materials used by man. It is characteristic of many properties. They are: mechanical strength, compactness, porosity, sound and heat insulation and fire-resistance. Concrete is referred to as one of the most important building materials. Concrete is a mixture of cement, sand, crushed stone and water. Steel has come into use with the development of industry. Its manufacture requires special equipment and skilled labour. Plastics combine all the fine characteristics of a building material with good insulating properties. The great structures of our days require new methods of construction and new building materials. New different synthetic materials and glass are widely used in construction. Housebuilding plants and combines are built on a large scale in our country.
